Mrs Julie Garland McLellan
About your course presenter
Julie’s board career spans a variety of sectors, including ASX-listed
companies, government bodies, and non-profits. She has chaired boards like
Oldfields Holdings, where she led a 300% increase in share price through
strategic turnaround and recapitalization. Her governance expertise includes
overseeing the launch of the Victorian Power Exchange, guiding the $3.3
billion strategic development of BHP's Latin American assets, and serving on
boards like Dams Safety NSW. Julie’s directorships have covered everything
from water utilities to fitness industry peak bodies, showcasing her
versatility and deep experience in navigating complex governance issues.
In addition to her practical experience, Julie holds an Executive MBA from
IE Business School, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance, and an Advanced
Diploma of Company Directorship from the Australian Institute of Company
Directors. She is also a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company
Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia, ensuring that her
insights are grounded in both professional education and practical
application.
